This paper summarizes the main concepts covered in Brain Rules by John Medina. It also overviews
current brain and learning research done since the original publication of the book that supports Medina’s 12 brain
rules. Thereafter, recommendations are presented for how teachers can make classroom modifications to take
advantage of current brain science.
